Description
While the western shore of the Whispering Sound is all rock and cliff face, there is a gentle slope from the ocean to the hills around Oldtown City on the eastern shoreline. The deep waters are a deep sapphire blue that churns up emerald-blue and then ivory in the seafoam of the surf. The further away from the city, the surf gets the turbulence and size of the waves grow. Lapping soft sea water allows children and families to enjoy the shell filled sand closest to the city and the tidal pools found under the overhang of the commons and harbor piers to the north. The further south the beach gets, the finer the sand and the greater the waves. A local clam hs a pearlescent purple inner shell and a pristine white scalloped outer shell. These shells over the ages being crushed down and polished by the churning tides give the sands a marbleized appearance, bright white with veins of purple.
